Who you're actually hiring

Bloomtex Services is family-owned and is based out of Pearland. When you call about a property, you're talking to someone who can make a decision about it. There's no regional office to route the question to and no account manager who has never seen the site.

Houston-area grounds have their own problems, and they don't match what works in Dallas or Phoenix. St. Augustine browns out under August heat and takes a specific mowing height to survive it. Beds that drain fine in March flood in May. Live oaks need clearing before hurricane season, not after the first storm warning, when every tree crew in Brazoria County is already booked. Getting the timing right on all of that is most of the job.

The work is commercial and institutional only. No residential. That's a deliberate limit rather than a gap: crews that split their week between subdivisions and single-family yards end up scheduling around the wrong things, and a property manager with a Monday-morning walkthrough can't be third in line behind two driveways.

Who we work with

Different buyers, different pressures. An HOA board answers to its residents at the annual meeting. A property manager answers to an owner looking at NOI.

Office, Retail & Industrial

Frontage, parking islands, and common areas for the properties where the grounds are the first thing a visitor sees.

An island bed in an HOA common area, freshly planted with white alyssum and pansies in dark mulch and edged by ivy groundcover. A stacked stone planter on a school campus, planted with pink and white annuals and variegated flax lily against a clipped hedge.

Where we work

Bloomtex covers 4 counties out of Pearland: Harris County, Brazoria County, Fort Bend County, and Galveston County. That takes in the commercial corridors along 288 and the Beltway, the master-planned communities south of Houston, and the Clear Lake and Bay Area properties east of I-45.

If a property sits just outside this list, it's still worth a call. The answer usually depends on what else is already on that route.

100%

commercial and institutional work

Commercial grounds contracts get cancelled for the same handful of reasons every time. The crew skips a week and nobody says anything. Bed lines drift until the property stops looking maintained. A board asks for a change in March and hears back in June. Most of what Bloomtex does to keep contracts is unglamorous: show up on the day, do the whole scope, and answer the phone when something's wrong.

Here's one corner of a church campus that had stopped looking maintained, photographed before the work and again after.

A bed beside a brick building holding nothing but compacted bare soil, leaf litter, and one clump of sago palm.
Before. Bare soil, leaf litter, and no edge holding the bed line.
The same bed after renovation, filled with fresh black mulch, cut in with green steel edging, and planted with a row of trimmed boxwoods.
After. Fresh mulch, steel edging, and boxwoods set on a line.

Common questions

Do you do residential lawn care?

No. Bloomtex works on commercial and institutional properties only, so the crews and equipment are set up for HOA common areas, office parks, school campuses, and church grounds rather than single-family yards.

What's included in a grounds maintenance contract?

Mowing, bed maintenance, seasonal color, fertilization, and cleanups, all on a contracted schedule. The frequency depends on the property, so a retail center on a weekly cycle and an HOA on a biweekly one are both normal.

Do you only take recurring contracts, or one-time projects too?

Both. Grounds maintenance runs on a recurring schedule. Landscape design and installation is project work, and tree care goes either way depending on whether it's storm cleanup or a managed pruning cycle.

How does pricing work?

Price depends on the size of the property, how often the crew is on site, and what's in scope, so there's no useful flat rate to quote. It starts with a walk of the property.

What areas do you cover?

Bloomtex works out of Pearland across Harris County, Brazoria County, Fort Bend County, and Galveston County, which covers 17 cities including Houston, Sugar Land, Missouri City, League City, Friendswood, Pasadena, and Alvin.
